Jogja International Heritage Walk
We are very pleased to inform you, that we have successfully implemented “The 1st Jogja International Heritage Walk on 29-30 November and 1 December 2008”, years ago. Events The 1st Jogja International Heritage Walk which was attended by more than 500 participants from Indonesia and Japan. And targeted in 2009, more than 1000 walk from Indonesia and Japan and other countries will join in this event 2 days.
Walking event is very popular around the world, especially in Japan and Europe. Committee wishes to support the growth trend that has been running enthusiastically promoted in Indonesia in recent years. With the age and obesity are increasing, “on foot” is the right step toward the active lifestyle, by encouraging people to move with fun activities, and motivation to challenge, in Jogja International Heritage Walk is right! Jogja International Heritage Walk is a community of people who are committed to improving their health, develop skills, enjoy the national heritage and have fun! JIWH event that will bring people together in a healthy way, and promote walking as a part of everyday life, and improve the health of our society.

(2 Days Walk for Green +)
We will bring Theme: “2 Days Walk for Green +” which encourages people to care about the environment. In the event Jogja International Heritage Walk This walk will incorporate a healthy, appreciation of nature conservation and cultural heritage. For program support, there will be a Tree Planting Program in the village of Karang Tengah for all pedestrians.
Event Program
• Pedestrians International from Japan, Australia, New Zealand, the Netherlands and Indonesia will run in Prambanan and Borobudur, the world heritage sites in Yogyakarta and Central Java.
• Training will be held at Prambanan and Borobudur World Heritage site.
• Pedestrians will be treated to a gala Royal Welcome Dinner at the Palace, (Royal Palace) and the Farewell Dinner (with the Ramayana Ballet Performance) at the Open Theater Prambanan temple.
• There will be a tree planting ceremony in the village of Karang Tengah, Imogiri, to promote awareness of the ecosystem.
Target Participants
• All walking distance from the corners of the world such as Indonesia, Japan, China, Malaysia, Singapore, the Netherlands, Australia, and New Zealand.
• Pedestrians Professional and amateur.
• The general public.
• Estimated 1000 participants.
Schedule of Events
Date and Place
Day 1: Prambanan Heritage Area (Saturday, November 14, 2009)
Start at Prambanan; The program begins at 07:00 – 20km, start 07:30 finish 11:30-12:00 – 10km, start 07:30 finish 09:30-10:00 – 5 km, start 07:30 finish 08:30-09:00
(1 hour walk about 4-5 km) departure Planting Trees at 13:00 hrs
Day 2: Borobudur Heritage Area (Sunday, November 15, 2009)
Start at Borobudur; The program begins at 06:30 – 20km, start 07:00 finish 12:00-12:30 – 10km, start 08:00 finish 10:30:11:00 – 5 km, start 09:00 finish 10:00-10:30

Starting from the hotel at 04:00 Breakfast at Hotel Manohara at 06:00
Welcome Dinner & Farewell Dinner
(Dress code: Formal Wear)
Welcome Dinner 14 November 2009, Gala Dinner at the Royal Palace
Farewell Dinner 15 November 2009, the Ramayana Ramayana Dinner at Prambanan Temple
Awards
Pedestrians from the local and international who completed the trip will receive a special medal from the Royal Yogyakarta Sultan Hamengkubuwono X (limited edition). Participants also will receive a Certificate of Jogja International Heritage Walk. All participants will also receive a stamp on both events (Prambanan and Borobudur) (Stamping book will be prepared by the committee).
